Being a fan doesn’t end when the story does.

In all honestly, I’m a late bloomer in the Potter world. I read the books growing up but I wasn’t completely in love with them like other kids are. I only really fell in love with the series a little before the first deathly hallows came out. If the tumblr name didn’t give it away already, I am a star wars freak all the way. I grew up watching the first trilogy. I remember crying when I was watching Phantom Menace in the cinema because when it first came out there was a blackout and they couldn’t continue the film without power.

It took George Lucas 16 years before he could release the next part of this series, and the fans never wavered through those years. Yes, the prequels were slightly underwhelming compared to the original trilogy but that didn’t stop fans from camping out at cinemas all over the world to be one of the first to see the latest installment of the series. It’s still a billion dollar franchise, that’s just with the movies. There’s still the books, comics, and merchandise.

I’m not here to say Star Wars is a better series than Harry Potter. I’m not saying that at all. I’m just trying to say that the Star Wars series officially ended 6 years ago and I’m still dead in love with that series. Star Wars is my childhood but when it ended my love for the series didn’t. I still play with my lightsaber till today. I still get that “KISS MY ASS EMPIRE” feeling when Luke blows up the death star. I still get goosebumps when Darth Vader reveals to Luke that he is his father. I still know every scene in every movie by heart. I still dream about going to the Dagobah system to learn the ways of the force with master Yoda. Being a fan doesn’t end when the story does.

This isn’t the last we’ll be seeing of Harry Potter. Just like how 6 years ago wasn’t the last of Star Wars.
